Summary
This study aimed to find out if silent, painless episodes of reduced blood flow to the heart (silent ischemia) could predict future heart problems like heart attacks or death in people who already had coronary heart disease. Researchers followed 973 patients for one to three years after a heart-related hospital stay, using portable heart monitors to track silent episodes during daily life. The goal was to see if detecting this silent condition could help doctors better identify which patients were at higher risk.
