First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This early study tests a new catheter that changes shape to better treat persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat. About 40 adults with persistent AF will receive this treatment under general anesthesia. The goal is to see if the catheter is safe within the first week and if it can create lasting scars to block faulty electrical signals in the heart.
