First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at 450 people aged 60 and older with diabetes who are having major non-heart surgery. It compares two common anesthetics, sevoflurane and propofol, to see which one lowers the chance of confusion (delirium) after surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs, and their mental state will be checked daily for a week. The goal is to find better ways to care for older patients with diabetes during surgery.
