Which anesthetic keeps pain tracking more accurate? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07511634
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will compare two common anesthetics, sevoflurane and desflurane, to see how they affect a pain monitoring tool called the Analgesia Nociception Index (ANI) during surgery. About 80 adults undergoing general anesthesia will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two drugs. The goal is to understand which anesthetic allows for better pain assessment, which could help doctors tailor anesthesia more precisely.
