Mind over muscle: can attitude predict injury in army cadets?
NCT ID NCT05453110
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether teaching cadets about back pain—either warning them about injury or reassuring them about spine strength—affects how much weight they can lift and their confidence. Over 900 new U.S. Military Academy cadets took part during basic training in summer 2022. The goal was to see if self-belief and education can influence performance and injury risk.
