Summary
This study tests whether taking a daily selenium supplement (200 micrograms) can reduce hospitalizations and heart-related deaths in people with heart failure. Researchers will compare selenium to a placebo in over 4,300 participants from Sweden and Norway. The goal is to see if correcting low selenium levels, common in Northern Europe, improves heart health when added to standard treatments.
