New combo therapy aims to stop bone cancer from coming back

NCT ID NCT05038124

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving a precise, high-dose radiation treatment (SBRT) to bone tumors before surgery is safe and can prevent the cancer from returning. About 39 adults with cancer that has spread to their bones and who need surgery to stabilize a fracture risk will receive SBRT followed by surgery within a week. The main goal is to check for serious wound complications and see if the cancer stays away from the treated bone.
