Summary

This phase II trial tests whether giving focused, high-dose radiation (SABR) to a small number of growing tumors, while continuing the same systemic therapy, can delay overall cancer progression in people with metastatic cancer. About 46 patients whose cancer has started to progress in just 1 to 5 spots will be randomly assigned to either standard care (switching drugs or supportive care) or SABR plus their current treatment. The main question is whether this strategy improves progression-free survival.
