Zapping the brain to ease Parkinson's slowness

NCT ID NCT07397377

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called patterned repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (prTMS) can reduce bradykinesia—slowness of movement—in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will apply the stimulation over a brain area involved in planning movement and compare it to a sham (fake) treatment. The trial enrolls 27 adults with Parkinson's who are on stable medication.
