Could a rose fruit powder ease pain after knee replacement?
NCT ID NCT07395856
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a powder made from Rosa roxburghii (a type of rose fruit) can help people recover after total knee replacement surgery for osteoarthritis. 184 participants will take either the supplement or a placebo daily for 30 days after surgery. Researchers will measure inflammation, oxidative stress, pain, and knee function to see if the supplement improves recovery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Rosa roxburghii (rose fruit) juice freeze-dried powder
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement to help people recover faster and with less pain after knee replacement surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 184 participants, and it uses a dietary supplement, not a drug. The results may not be strong enough to recommend it widely, and the placebo effect could play a role.
