First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving dementia patients a robotic pet (like a robotic cat or dog) during their hospital stay could improve their well-being and reduce problems like confusion, falls, and the need for strong medications. 106 adults aged 65 and older with mild-to-moderate dementia took part. Researchers compared those who received a robotic pet to those who received standard care, measuring things like delirium scores, length of stay, and safety events.
