Brain device zaps seizures in Drug-Resistant epilepsy

Summary

This study tested a brain implant (RNS System) that sends electrical pulses to the thalamus to reduce seizures in people with drug-resistant idiopathic generalized epilepsy. 100 participants aged 12 and older were enrolled. The goal was to see if the device is safe and effective at cutting down the number of generalized seizures, including tonic-clonic seizures.
