New hope for medium vessel stroke: direct drug injection trial launches

NCT ID NCT07185022

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a clot-dissolving medicine directly into the brain's arteries can improve recovery for people having a stroke caused by a medium-sized blood vessel blockage. About 282 adults with this type of stroke will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard care or the additional artery injection. The goal is to see if this approach leads to less disability three months after the stroke.
