New hope for medium vessel strokes: direct drug injection trial launches

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a clot-busting drug directly into the blocked brain artery can improve recovery for people with a medium vessel stroke. About 282 adults with this type of stroke will receive either the direct drug injection plus standard care, or standard care alone. The goal is to see if this approach leads to less disability three months later.
