Summary
This small, completed study tested if a clinical trial could be run remotely to find the best personalized drug plan for protecting the kidneys of people with type 2 diabetes. Twelve participants tried a drug called empagliflozin at home, and based on their kidney test results, some continued it, some added another drug (finerenone), or some switched drugs. The main goal was to see if running such a trial from home was practical and could help tailor treatment to each person.
