NCT ID NCT05476991

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study is testing whether two drugs, colchicine (an anti-inflammatory) and ticagrelor (a blood thinner), can reduce the risk of another stroke, heart attack, or related death in people who have already had an ischemic stroke. About 2,800 high-risk participants will take these medications long-term to see if they prevent future events. The goal is to control the underlying inflammation and clotting that lead to repeat strokes.
