First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether carefully reducing or stopping certain medications (called anticholinergics) can help prevent dementia in older adults. Researchers are following 344 people aged 65 and older who take these medications, comparing those who get a deprescribing plan with those who receive usual care. The goal is to see if this approach protects memory and thinking skills over two years.
