New heart zapping method could make AFib treatment safer
NCT ID NCT07572253
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new way to treat a common heart rhythm problem called atrial fibrillation (AFib). Instead of using heat or cold, doctors will use a special energy called pulsed field ablation (PFA) to fix the heart's electrical signals. They will also use a 3D ultrasound map to guide the procedure, avoiding the need for extra scans. About 70 adults with AFib will take part to see if this combination is safe and works well.
