NCT ID NCT07306312
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study investigates whether psychological factors like fear of movement, self-confidence, and mood can predict how much pain and disability improve after manual therapy in people with chronic low back pain. Sixty adults aged 18-65 with pain lasting over 3 months will be split into two groups: one receiving manual therapy alone, and the other adding Pain Neuroscience Education. The goal is to understand which psychological traits might help tailor future treatments.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could help therapists personalize treatment for chronic low back pain by identifying which psychological factors predict better outcomes.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage observational study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It does not test a new treatment, only explores predictors.
