Could a blood injection ease Amputees' nerve pain?
NCT ID NCT07624890
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two injection treatments for chronic nerve pain (neuroma) after combat-related amputation. One uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the patient's own blood, the other uses a standard local anesthetic. About 100 adults with persistent pain will receive an ultrasound-guided injection and be followed for changes in pain, phantom limb pain, and daily function. The goal is to see if PRP offers longer-lasting relief than current temporary options.
