First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether a cream containing live 'good bacteria' (Lactobacillus crispatus) could improve skin barrier function in people with obesity. 98 adults with a BMI of 25 or higher applied the cream or a placebo to their forearms daily for 4 weeks. The main goal was to see if the cream reduced water loss through the skin, which is a sign of healthier skin.
