Blood clot breakthrough: new gel may save dead teeth
NCT ID NCT07192289
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether a substance made from a patient's own blood, called platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), can help regenerate the inner part of a dead or infected tooth. About 57 adults with a single-rooted tooth that has died will receive either PRF or a standard blood-clot treatment. The goal is to see which method better eliminates infection and promotes healing, potentially avoiding root canals or extractions.
