Summary
This study tested whether giving mothers a single 2-gram dose of azithromycin during labour (or just before a C-section) could prevent skin and soft tissue infections in their babies by 3 months of age. Over 2,100 pregnant women participated. The goal was to see if this simple, one-time treatment could safely reduce infections in newborns.
