Heart failure drug before hospital stay may improve outcomes, study suggests
NCT ID NCT07347925
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at 140 heart failure patients to see if taking a medicine called ARNI before coming to the hospital leads to better short-term health. Researchers will compare those who were already on ARNI with those who were not, tracking heart and kidney events during the hospital stay and shortly after discharge. The goal is to understand if pre-hospital use of this drug is linked to better outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that starting ARNI before a hospital visit improves short-term heart and kidney outcomes in heart failure patients.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a randomized trial, so results may be influenced by other factors. It is also relatively small and only looks at short-term effects.
