First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a non-opioid painkiller (ketorolac) to standard opioid pain medication can reduce the amount of opioids needed after preventive femur surgery. The study includes 60 adults with bone lesions from cancer who are getting a metal rod placed in the thigh bone to prevent a fracture. Participants will receive either opioids alone or opioids plus ketorolac, and their pain and opioid use will be tracked for two weeks after surgery.
