Could a lung drug stop painful pancreatitis Flare-Ups?
NCT ID NCT06253117
Summary
This study is testing whether pirfenidone, a drug already approved for a lung disease, can help people who suffer from repeated, painful episodes of acute pancreatitis. The goal is to see if taking the drug for six months can reduce the number of future attacks, lower inflammation, and prevent the condition from becoming permanent. Researchers will enroll 60 adults who have had at least two distinct pancreatitis attacks to compare the drug's effects against a placebo.
