First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests two diabetes medications, pioglitazone and empagliflozin, to see which one better controls blood sugar in people whose diabetes is caused by chronic or recurrent acute pancreatitis. About 40 adults aged 18-80 with this type of diabetes will take one of the drugs, and researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, insulin, and body composition over time. The goal is to find the most effective treatment for this specific form of diabetes.
