First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a new, inexpensive capsule tool that is attached to a string and inserted into the lower gut to take real-time pictures without sedation. It aims to see if the device can capture clear images of the lower gastrointestinal tract in 30 adults, including healthy volunteers and people with Lynch syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. The procedure uses a motor to slowly move the capsule upward while the participant remains awake.
