Could taking blood thinners only when needed be safer after AF ablation?

NCT ID NCT06216769

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two approaches to blood thinners after a common heart procedure for atrial fibrillation. One group takes blood thinners every day as usual, while the other takes them only when a small implanted monitor detects the heart rhythm problem returning. The goal is to see if the on-demand approach reduces bleeding risks while still preventing strokes. About 400 adults with atrial fibrillation will take part.
