First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at how gum disease and smoking change certain proteins (called inflammasomes) in saliva. Researchers will collect saliva and measure gum health in 116 adults with healthy gums or gum disease, including smokers and non-smokers. The goal is to see if these proteins can help diagnose gum disease more easily.
