NCT ID NCT02858869

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early study tested combining the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab with precise radiation (stereotactic radiosurgery) in 25 people with melanoma or lung cancer that had spread to the brain. The main goal was to check for serious side effects. Researchers also tracked how long participants lived and whether the treatment caused brain swelling. The approach aims to control the disease rather than cure it.
