Could a 'Brain Drain' gene hold clues to Parkinson's severity?
NCT ID NCT04553185
Summary
This study aims to understand if variations in a specific gene (AQP4), which helps the brain clear waste during sleep, are linked to how Parkinson's disease symptoms appear and progress. Researchers will collect blood samples and conduct clinical assessments from 800 people with Parkinson's to look for these connections. The goal is to gather knowledge about potential biological factors influencing the disease, not to test a treatment.
