Can exercise help pancreatic cancer patients get stronger before treatment?
NCT ID NCT05692323
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 6-week supervised exercise program for people with pancreatic cancer. Participants will do aerobic and resistance training three times a week, plus home exercise tracked by a FitBit. The goal is to see if the program is feasible and safe, not to cure the cancer. Only 16 people are enrolled, so this is a very early test.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
supervised exercise program (aerobic and resistance training)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a structured exercise program is practical and safe for pancreatic cancer patients, potentially improving their fitness before treatment.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 16 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The main goal is just to see if the program is feasible, not to measure health benefits.
