New pain test may take guesswork out of pancreatitis treatment

Summary
This study looks at whether a special pain test called Pancreatic Quantitative Sensory Testing (P-QST) can predict how well people with chronic pancreatitis will respond to treatments like endoscopy or surgery. About 150 adults with chronic pancreatitis and ongoing pain will take the test before their procedure. Researchers will then check their pain levels 3 and 6 months later to see if the test results matched their recovery.
