NCT ID NCT07523451
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested two different strengths of ozone gas injections into the jaw joint for people with TMJ disorders. Twenty adults who had clicking, popping, or limited mouth opening that didn't improve with other treatments received the injections. Researchers measured pain and jaw function using a standard scale and mouth opening ability.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ozone gas
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, low-cost injection to ease jaw pain and improve mouth opening for people with TMJ disorders.
What could go wrong
This was a very small, completed trial with only 20 participants. Ozone injections are not yet standard treatment, and results may not apply to everyone with TMJ issues.
