First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing two drugs, osimertinib and tegavivint, as a first treatment for people with a specific type of advanced lung cancer (EGFR-mutant NSCLC that has spread). The goal is to find the best dose and see if the combination is safe and shrinks tumors. About 24 adults with this cancer will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Osimertinib and Tegavivint
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a more effective first-line treatment for EGFR-mutant lung cancer that has spread.
What could go wrong
This is a very early phase 1 trial with only 24 people, so it may not show clear benefit. Side effects from the drug combination are unknown and could be serious.
