Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a custom oral appliance (MyTAP plus mouth shield) could lower the number of atrial fibrillation episodes in people with the condition. Only 3 participants were enrolled before the study was terminated, so results are very limited. The approach aimed to use a dental device to influence heart rhythm through the oropharynx-brainstem-heart connection.
