Summary
This study tested whether adding a personalized computer-model-guided ablation (OPTIMA) to the standard pulmonary vein isolation procedure improves outcomes for people with persistent atrial fibrillation. 67 adults undergoing catheter ablation were randomly assigned to receive either standard treatment or standard plus OPTIMA. The goal was to see if the personalized approach could increase the number of patients free from irregular heart rhythms one year after the procedure.
