First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a procedure called omentopexy (stitching part of the stomach lining to the abdominal wall) during sleeve gastrectomy can prevent new or worsening acid reflux. About 526 adults with obesity will be randomly assigned to receive sleeve gastrectomy alone or with omentopexy. Researchers will check reflux symptoms and quality of life two years after surgery.
