Scientists test new Drug-Radiation combo in fight against tough sarcomas

NCT ID NCT02787642

Summary

This early-stage study tested whether adding a drug called olaparib to standard radiation therapy is safe and might help control advanced soft-tissue sarcomas that cannot be surgically removed. It involved 41 adults with these difficult-to-treat tumors. The main goal was to find the highest safe dose of olaparib to give alongside radiation, while also checking if the combination could stop tumor growth.
