New pill may stop PTSD before it starts after car crashes

Summary

This study tests whether a fast-acting sublingual medication (TNX-102 SL) can reduce acute stress symptoms and prevent long-term PTSD in adults who have been in a car accident. 180 participants will receive the drug or a placebo in the emergency room and take it for two weeks at home. Researchers will track stress levels, thinking abilities, and side effects over time.
