First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a program called NPOWER365 for Black men who have sex with men and are living with HIV. The program uses a smartphone app, online forums, and resource referrals to help with medication adherence, mental health, and access to care. About 350 participants in the Atlanta area will be followed for up to 6 months to see if the program improves daily HIV medication use and reduces depression and anxiety.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- NPOWER365 HIV care intervention (behavioral program with mobile health features, online forums, and resource referrals)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a scalable way to improve HIV medication adherence and mental health for Black men who have sex with men.
- What could go wrong
- This is a behavioral intervention study, not a drug trial. Results may not apply outside the Atlanta area, and adherence improvements may not last long-term.
