First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether self-administered nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can reduce pain and anxiety during a urodynamic study, a test for urinary symptoms. Nineteen adults scheduled for the test received low-dose nitrous oxide during the procedure. The goal was to see if the gas changed key bladder measurements, like capacity and pressure, while also making the experience more comfortable.
