This trial investigates whether a laser surgery called HoLEP, which removes excess prostate tissue to improve urinary symptoms, can improve quality of life when performed before radiation therapy in men with both prostate cancer and bothersome lower urinary tract symptoms. The study includes 30 men who have chosen radiation treatment for their cancer. Researchers will measure changes in quality of life and whether the surgery alters the course of cancer treatment.
