NCT ID NCT00797719
First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a short, intense course of radiation to the chest just before surgery can kill cancer cells and prevent them from spreading outside the chest during the operation. It involved 104 people with malignant pleural mesothelioma, a rare cancer linked to asbestos. The goal was to see if this approach is safe and can reduce the chance of the cancer coming back in other parts of the body.
