Immunotherapy before surgery shows promise for mesothelioma patients

NCT ID NCT03918252

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving immunotherapy drugs (nivolumab with or without ipilimumab) before surgery is safe and feasible for people with resectable malignant pleural mesothelioma. About 30 adults with epithelial or biphasic mesothelioma will receive the drugs, then undergo surgery, followed by a year of maintenance nivolumab. The goal is to see if this approach can shrink tumors and improve outcomes without causing major delays in surgery.
