Sound waves plus drug show promise against deadly brain tumor in small pilot
NCT ID NCT04446416
First seen Apr 23, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 23, 2026
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether adding a focused ultrasound device (NaviFUS) to standard chemotherapy (bevacizumab) is safe and helps control tumor growth in 6 adults with recurrent glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Participants had already received standard treatments. The study measured side effects, tumor shrinkage, and how long the disease stayed under control. Results are limited due to the very small number of participants.
