First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study is testing a new treatment plan for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. Instead of the usual approach, patients get chemotherapy first, followed by a higher dose of MRI-guided radiation. The goal is to see if this combination can eliminate the cancer completely and allow patients to avoid surgery. The study is in its early phase (Phase 1) and will enroll 25 adults to check safety and effectiveness.
