First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a virtual platform called MOVIN that helps pregnant and postpartum people with depression or anxiety. Participants get a care coordinator who recommends online treatments and works with their doctor. The goal is to see if this approach reduces symptoms better than just providing online resources. The study will enroll 570 adults in Ontario.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- virtual collaborative care platform with care coordination and stepped interventions
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide a scalable, accessible way to deliver mental health care to many new parents who currently go untreated.
- What could go wrong
- This is a single trial testing a platform versus enhanced usual care, so results may not apply everywhere. The intervention is complex and depends on participant engagement and local resources.
