First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study is testing a new, less invasive way to diagnose Barrett's esophagus and early esophageal cancer using a sponge capsule device. Participants swallow the capsule, which collects cells from the esophagus for analysis. The goal is to see if this method is accurate and safe for screening people at risk, especially those with chronic acid reflux.
